1. Introduction
SGKS Labs ("we", "us", "our") built CoinVault as a local-first application for cataloguing coin collections. This Privacy Policy explains what information CoinVault collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. By using CoinVault, you agree to the practices described here.
2. Summary
- Your coin collection and photos are stored on your device, not on our servers.
- CoinVault does not require an account and does not run its own analytics or tracking.
- Free-tier use shows ads served by Google Mobile Ads (AdMob), which does process certain device data.
- Local backup/restore (Premium) exports your collection to a file on your device — it is entirely offline and never uploaded anywhere.
- We never sell or share your collection data with anyone.
3. Information We Collect
3.1 Information You Create and Control
Coin records, photos (front/back/edge/detail and profile photo), and collector-profile details (name, about, notes) that you enter into CoinVault. This data is stored locally on your device in CoinVault's private app storage. SGKS Labs never receives a copy of this data on our own servers — we don't operate any backend server for CoinVault, and CoinVault has no account system or cloud sync of any kind.
3.2 Information Collected by Third-Party Services
CoinVault integrates two Google services, each of which independently processes limited data:
- Google Play Billing — active when you purchase Premium. Handles all payment details itself; CoinVault only receives a purchase-status confirmation (Premium / Free).
- Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) — Free tier only, removed entirely on Premium. Processes device and advertising identifiers and general device information, to request and display ads.

3.3 Information We Do Not Collect
CoinVault does not collect or transmit analytics, crash reports, usage tracking, or telemetry of any kind. We do not require an account and have no sign-in of any kind. We do not collect your name, email, or any personal identifier unless you choose to enter it into your own collector profile, which stays on your device only.
4. Permissions CoinVault Requests
- Camera — to photograph your coins directly within the app, used only when you tap the camera button.
- Internet / Network state — used only for Google Play Billing purchases and loading ads for Free-tier users. Every core cataloguing feature, including local backup and restore, works fully offline and never uses these permissions.
CoinVault does not request contacts, location, microphone, SMS, call-log, or broad storage/media permissions. Photo selection uses Android's built-in Photo Picker, which grants CoinVault access only to the specific photo you choose.
5. Data Storage and Security
Your collection lives in a local database and a private app-storage folder that only CoinVault can access, protected by Android's app sandboxing. We do not operate any server that stores your collection data, and nothing in CoinVault is ever uploaded to any cloud service.
6. Data Retention and Your Choices
- Export your entire collection to a local backup file at any time (Premium feature, reached from your Profile), independent of us — the file stays on your device until you choose to move or share it.
- Delete individual coins or your entire collection at any time within the app.
- Uninstalling CoinVault removes its local data from your device, subject to your own Android backup/restore settings.
7. Children's Privacy
CoinVault is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through CoinVault, contact us and we will address it.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by an updated effective date above. Continued use of CoinVault after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
