1. Overview
AutoPulse is a vehicle expense tracking app for Android, developed by SGKS Labs. This policy explains what information AutoPulse collects, how it's used and stored, which third-party services it relies on, and the controls available to you.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Account Information
When you sign in with Google, AutoPulse receives your name, email address, and profile picture from Google's sign-in service. This is used only to identify your account within the app — AutoPulse does not use a separate authentication server; your identity is verified directly from Google's sign-in credential on your device.
2.2 Vehicle and Usage Data
Vehicle and usage data you enter, including:
- Vehicle details (make, name, fuel type, engine/tank capacity, odometer readings)
- Fuel fill-up entries (date, odometer, volume/energy, price, total cost, full-tank status)
- Service records (date, odometer, service type, cost, service center, notes)
- Maintenance reminders you create
2.3 App Preferences
App preferences, such as your selected currency, distance/volume units, and theme — stored only on your device.
2.4 Purchase Status
If you buy the one-time Premium unlock, Google Play Billing tells the app whether you own that purchase. AutoPulse never receives or stores your payment card details — those are handled entirely by Google Play.
2.5 Advertising Data (Free-Tier Users Only)
If you have not purchased Premium, AutoPulse shows ads served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect an advertising identifier and ad-interaction data to select and measure ads, under Google's own privacy policy (linked below). Premium users are never shown ads and this data is not collected for them.
3. How We Store and Protect Your Data
Your data is stored locally on your device in an on-device database, which is the primary copy of your information.
To keep your data available across reinstalls and (in the future) multiple devices, AutoPulse also saves a backup copy to a private, hidden storage area inside your own Google Drive account, called an "app data folder." This folder:
- Is created and used only by AutoPulse — it does not appear in your regular Google Drive file list and cannot be opened or read by other apps.
- Is accessible only to your own Google account, protected by Google's own account security and Drive infrastructure.
- Is only created after you explicitly grant AutoPulse permission to access it during sign-in.
AutoPulse does not operate its own cloud servers and does not use Firebase or any other third-party database for storing your vehicle, fuel, or service data.
4. Third-Party Services We Use
AutoPulse relies on the following Google services to function:
- Google Sign-In (Credential Manager) — for account authentication.
- Google Drive API — to store your private backup/sync data in your own Drive account, as described above.
- Google Play Billing — to process the one-time Premium purchase.
- Google AdMob (Google Mobile Ads SDK) — to show ads to free-tier users, as described above.
Each of these is operated by Google and governed by Google's Privacy Policy (policies.google.com/privacy). AutoPulse does not use Firebase Authentication, Firestore, Analytics, or Crashlytics.
5. Advertising
Free-tier users see occasional ads (a banner and, at most a few times per day, a full-screen ad) served through Google AdMob. AdMob may use an advertising identifier to personalize ads and measure their performance. You can manage ad personalization and your advertising identifier through your device's Google Settings (Settings → Google → Ads). Purchasing Premium removes ads entirely and stops this data collection for your account going forward.
6. Data Sharing
AutoPulse does not sell your personal data. Information is shared only with the Google services listed above, to the extent necessary to provide sign-in, sync, billing, and ad-supported use of the app. We do not share your vehicle, fuel, or service data with any other third party.
7. Your Choices and Controls
- Edit or delete any vehicle, fuel entry, service record, or reminder at any time from within the app.
- Deleting a vehicle also permanently deletes all of its fuel entries, service records, and reminders.
- Sign out at any time from Profile — this clears your local session; your data remains safely backed up in your Google Drive app data folder for when you sign back in.
- Revoke Drive access at any time via your Google Account permissions page (myaccount.google.com/permissions) — this removes AutoPulse's ability to read or write your backup data.
- Request full account data deletion by emailing sgkslabs@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account. We will delete your app data folder and confirm once the request is complete, typically within 30 days.
8. Data Retention
Your data persists for as long as you use the app and remain signed in. If you request account deletion, your Google Drive app data folder is permanently deleted; uninstalling the app removes all local data from your device immediately.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this policy as the app changes. Material changes will be reflected here with an updated effective date.
